Hooray, first post!

Greetings friends!
Lori and I are always chatting about makeup, so finally decided to create an outlet to dump our beauty quandaries, discoveries, favorites, tips and tricks ... because we are obsessed.  Obsessed over makeup!!

Lori and I were talking about what the topic of our first post should be.  Well it's getting warmer and since we both seem to be into the anti-aging/preventative thing we are staying out of the sun and relying on bronzer to give us that faux glow :)

So the first post will be all about bronzer!

I've been using the Guerlain Terra Cotta bronzer in 02.  I bought it last year but only just started using it maybe a month ago because I finally finished my Nars Laguna bronzer.  Nars Laguna seems to be really popular but I didn't love the way it looked on me... not sure what it was... the Guerlain I think is more natural, not as dark as Laguna.  Still, I don't love it .. I DO love the Estee Lauder bronzer which I got as a sample a few months ago ... so as soon as I'm done with this Guerlain, I'm on to the Estee Lauder!

Here is the Guerlain bronzer:
And this is the Estee Lauder sample I got - it came with powder, blush and bronzer.  Loved the blush too .. and how cute is the compact?? Lilly Pulitzer!

Lori?

Agreed! I honestly think Laguna is overrated and appeared a bit muddy on me.  I recently bought Bare Escentuals Ready Bronzer in High Dive. So far, the color looks natural and adds a nice warm glow without too much shimmer. But we will see how it holds up when the summer sun turns me a few shades darker.

The wonderful make-up artist at MAC recommended not a bronzer, but a Mineralized Skin Finish face powder in Deep. And I have to say, the result is fantastic.  It looks super natural, because its my skin tone several shades darker.  If  I don't use it as a bronzer, than I find myself reaching for it when I need a contour shade.  It's applies smoothly and evenly.  Even though its pigmented, it's still a face powder and hard to over do.

If anyone has a bronzer favorite, we wanna know! And please let us know if you want to hear our drugstore faves!

  1. Congrats ladies! I love bronzer but quite honestly have not used it in years. I need to go back! I used to love Mac but ran out in like 2007 and so now I don't use it at all.

My latest obsession is serums ... I own three (I have a problem). Can I suggest a post on that soon??

    1. Suggestions are greatly appreciated. I am a serum junkie as well. Currently, I am using Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum to lighten dark spots and it has worked wonders in keeping my face radiant. I am on my second bottle. The texture is light, satiny, and has a light, pleasing scent. I wear it under my make up and the nights I am not using a retinol product.
